The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation is participating in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair from the 22nd to the 28th of May 2023, with a distinguished group of cultural activities, which reflect its pioneering identity in awarding prizes and appreciating the creators in the Arab world. Poets: Dr. Ali Jaafar Al-Alaq, Qassem Haddad, Sawsan Dahnim, Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, and Hussein Darwish, in addition to a group of novelists, led by the novelist Nabil Suleiman, Jamal Matar, Saleha Obaid Hassan, and Afraa Mahmoud, as well as participating from the critics: Dr. Haitham Yahya Al-Khawaja and Shaker Nouri with two new books published by the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation.

The Foundation’s program, which will be held in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, is in line with its policy aimed at celebrating the award-winning creators. Two poetic evenings will be held on the main platform of the exhibition, Dr. Ali Jaafar Al-Alaq, at 7:30 pm on May 23, and the poet Qasim Haddad, at 7:30 pm on the 25th of May.

“The Aesthetics of Narrative Narration in the Emirates”

Cultural events continue in the foundation’s pavilion at the Abu Dhabi Book Fair, where novelist and writer Nabil Suleiman presents a symposium entitled “The Aesthetics of Narrative Narration in the Emirates”, accompanied by a signing ceremony for his novel “The Murals of the Levant. Winners, at 7:30 p.m. on May 26th.

At 7:00 pm on May 24, a symposium entitled “Experiences and Voices… Testimonies in the Emirati Novel” will be held, in which the journalist Jamal Matar, the storyteller Saleha Obaid Hassan, and the storyteller Afraa Mahmoud will participate.

In cooperation with the Emirates Book Club, novelist Dr. Miral Al-Tahawy held a discussion session about her novel “Days of the Rising Sun”, interviewed by the journalist, Nawar Abu Ghazi, and presented by the critic, Dr. Mahmoud Bakri Al-Amin, with the participation of Dr. Fatima Al-Budi and Dr. Abdullah Al-Dhanhani, at 6:00 pm on Saturday, May 27.
