For the first time outside its corridors, the Mohammed bin Rashid Library displays 18 rare pieces from the ammunition and special collections exhibition. This was during her participation in the activities of the 32nd edition of the Abu Dhabi Book Fair, which will be held from May 22 to 28 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, member of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, said, “The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is one of the most prominent regional and international book fairs and cultural events, which represents a vital platform for publishers, writers and readers to interact and exchange ideas and information, and contributes a major role in Promoting cultural exchange, dialogue and cultural understanding between different cultures.

He added, “The 18 holdings that will be shown to visitors are part of the many rarities that abound in the ammunition exhibition, which amount to nearly 300 rare pieces, reflecting our mission in preserving the heritage and cultural heritage of humanity, and providing a unique experience for visitors at the exhibition.”

Among the most prominent rare holdings displayed in the wing of the Mohammed bin Rashid Library is a rare Latin translation decorated with drawings of Ibn Sina’s “The Law in Medicine 1562”, a large portion of the Holy Qur’an dating back to the Mamluk era, and an atlas of cities of the world 1593-1594, by Brown and Hogenberg, And the first edition of the first novel from the famous Harry Potter series «Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone 1997» by Jay. K. Rowling.

And The Book of One Thousand and One Nights 1839-1842 AD, which represents a rare and complete Arabic edition of the stories of One Thousand and One Nights published by Sir William Macnaghton in Calcutta, and other anecdotes.
