Will the car lots lower prices? The Central Bureau of Statistics reveals that used cars are on the decline
Attention used car sellers: after the corona virus and after quite a few crises that caused the prices of used cars to rise, now comes good news. Data published by the Central Bureau of Statistics reveal that in fact the prices of used cars have been on a downward trend for several months – and this is very good news for anyone interested in purchasing a used car.
Until now, the Central Bureau of Statistics has not dealt directly with the issue of used cars, even though it is an important issue: like household goods, rent or any other expense – a used car is a very respectable expense that takes up a part of our lives, and perhaps this is the reason why in recent months the Central Bureau of Statistics began to include the prices of cars as well used in the consumer price index. And so – according to the data of the Central Bureau of Statistics, the prices of used cars were especially reduced in the month of April by a rate of 1.1%. The phrase “extremely discounted” used by the Central Bureau of Statistics may sound a bit exaggerated, but when it comes to an expensive asset like a car, then a 1.1% discount is already a lot of money. The reports of the Central Bureau of Statistics for the month of March state that even then there was a 1.1% decrease in the prices of used cars and this is actually the first month in which the Central Bureau of Statistics began to check the prices of used cars, meaning that before March 2023 there was no documentation of the prices.
When we come to check the used car price lists of Levy Yitzhak for the month of May and the month of April preceding it, we see that in some cases there are indeed decreases in the prices of popular cars. For example, in Toyota, the price of the Prius Plus, which is intended for six passengers, has really been reduced: in April, the price of the Prius Plus model 2021 was NIS 138,000 in the price list. Now the price is 135 thousand shekels. Toyota Sienna, the largest minivan in the version XLE It cost NIS 328,000 for the 2022 model – now it costs NIS 318,000. The Hyundai Santa Fe LaCachuri Turbo which cost NIS 206,000 in April now costs NIS 200,000.
