Samit Akaydin, the Fenerbahçe player, responded to the fact that he spat on Egyptian international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet Trabzonspor player and the Egyptian national team.
Camera lenses showed the player Samet Akiden spitting on Trezeguetdue to scoring Trabzon’s only goal in the 80th minute, from a penalty kick.
“I condemn the immoral allegations of manipulating my movement from the angle of the image, which I did is part of the habit of athletes,” Samit wrote on his official account on social media.
Trabzon club issued an official statement, because a player in the ranks of Fenerbahce spat on Trezeguet, during the confrontation that brought the two teams together, the day before yesterday, Thursday, in the 34th round of the Turkish League competition, which ended with Fenerbahce winning 3-1.
Inhumane action against Trezeguet
Trabzon club said in an official statement: “This is a disgrace. We strongly condemn the inhuman act that football player Mahmoud Trezeguet was subjected to during our match against Fenerbahce on May 18, 2023.”
He added, “It is disgraceful and disgusting that the footballer of Fenerbahçe Samet Akaydın ‘turns around’ and spits on our player while he is in prostration after scoring a goal.”
The statement continued, “We expect all stakeholders in football to stand up against this act, and we expect the Turkish Football Federation, especially Fenerbahçe Sports Club, to do what is necessary immediately.”
He concluded: “We call on the entire sports community to come together to rebuild sport on the basis of friendship, love and respect, to reject this aggression and inhumane acts and to protect the true values of football.”
