Gharbia – Marwa Shaheen:
The Directorate of Social Solidarity in Gharbia blew up a surprise about a woman who stopped Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the Minister of Higher Education and the Acting Minister of Health, and the Governor of Gharbia, while they were on an inspection tour in the street and begged to give her an apartment to reside in due to her difficult circumstances and her inability to pay the rent.
The Minister of Higher Education, the Acting Minister of Health, and the Governor of Gharbia responded to the woman, and she was summoned to the office of the Governor of Gharbia in the General Court of Gharbia Governorate, and the Governor decided to give her an apartment and the Minister ensured that she was equipped.
The Solidarity Directorate discovered, while conducting a social research on the case of the 76-year-old woman, Amal Ali, that she lives in a two-room apartment equipped with its utilities, and that she receives a pension of 4,000 pounds, as she was working as a worker in a spinning and weaving factory.
By asking the lady’s neighbors, they confirmed that she has 3 other apartments in Al-Jalaa and Mit Hobeish housing, and that she does not suffer from any financial problems, and she often asked the former governors of Gharbia to ask for an apartment.
The statement of the Directorate of Social Solidarity in Gharbia Governorate sent to the governor said that the aforementioned does not deserve to be granted an apartment and is not one of the cases to which the law applies.
Dr. Tariq Rahmi, Governor of Gharbia, and Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Acting Minister of Health, had received an elderly woman at the governorate’s general office, who had stopped the minister’s convoy during his visit to the governorate and asked him for an apartment.
In her conversation with the minister, the lady said: “I am walking in the street, and I pray that God will allow me to meet a large person. I ask him for housing. I am six years old, and I have no housing and no possibility to pay rent.” Immediately the minister responded to her, saying: “I am ready to pay you for a small apartment.”
The Governor of Gharbia summoned the woman in his office after the minister’s visit ended in his presence and assigned to provide a fully equipped apartment for her and told him that he would hand her over the apartment himself.
