Actor Johnny Depp, who last year made headlines because of his legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard, has returned to entertainment with the French historical romance Jeanne de Paris. This time, a biopic titled “Moody” will be directed and co-produced by Depp with actor Al Pacino and producer Barry Navidi.
The biopic “Moody” will see the return of actor Johnny Depp to direct. It is based on the life of the classic Italian artist and painter Amedeo Modigliani, who was known as “Moody” among his friends.
“Moody” is based on Dennis McIntyre’s play Modigliani, written by Jerzy and Mary Kromolovsky. The play showed 48 hours in the life of the painter and became a turning point in his life and gained him wide fame, according to the India Times.
Production of “Moody” will begin in Budapest from September to October 2023. Among those who will play important roles are Riccardo Scamarcio as Modigliani, Pierre Nini as French artist Maurice Utrillo, and Al Pacino. Modi will be shown at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
And Johnny Depp seems excited about directing “A Universal Human Story.” Moreover, Al Pacino is equally enthusiastic. Barry Navidi revealed that Modi is “very close to Al Pacino’s heart”, adding that the film will be “a slice of Modi’s life rather than a biopic”.
