The future king and queen of Great Britain, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, have been spending their time recently in quite a few flashy events. The problem is that there is a situation that for the truly defining event – their 12th wedding anniversary, which we recently celebrated, William was not prepared accordingly.
In contrast to a traditional wedding day in the kingdom, which is usually marked by an exchange of gifts of fine fabrics, silk or linen, the prince’s questionable history in choosing gifts for his beloved wife indicates: William often struggled with the task. In the past, the prince even admitted that he gave Kate one horrible present for her birthday, which left her completely confused – and the truth is, us too.

In 2020, William revealed the bizarre gift he gave his wife, when he was a guest on former English footballer Peter Crouch’s podcast, on BBC Radio Five. While the host shamelessly confessed that he bought his wife a raincoat three years in a row for her birthday, William apparently felt comfortable enough to admit: “I did buy my wife binoculars once.” what?
“She never let me forget it. It was early in the courtship – I think that sealed the deal,” William said. indeed? For it is not at all certain that this move was enough, even for the prince, who later added: “It didn’t go well. Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her binoculars. At the time it seemed like a good idea,” he noted in the same interview. We can only hope that William raised the bar this year for his future queen and the mother of his children.
