And participating in the meeting from Egypt, Abdul Muttalib Khedr, Executive Managing Director of the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport and Vice President of the Arab Union for Land Transport for Passenger Affairs.

The Secretary-General of the Arab Union for Land Transport, Malik Haddad, said in a speech that the meeting aims to increase cooperation, coordination and joint action between the Arab brothers in the Arab land transport sector.

He added that there are several files that will be discussed during the meeting in order to achieve integration among the Arab countries that are members of the union, indicating that the recommendations that will be reached will be submitted to the Arab transport ministers during their next meeting under the umbrella of the League of Arab States.

In turn, the Jordanian Minister of Public Works and Housing welcomed the holding of the meeting in the capital, Amman, stressing that he is keen to attend and communicate with the Arab brothers to serve Arab issues in the transport sector in general.

He pointed out that the meeting confirms the Union’s keenness to continue joint Arab consultation and coordination, stressing the need for joint Arab action to face challenges in the transportation sector and other sectors.

He stressed that he will support all decisions and recommendations that will come out of the meeting, and he will also support and present them to the meeting of Arab transport ministers at their nearest meeting.

For his part, Engineer Khaled Al-Hogail, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Federation of Land Transport, praised the level of attendance today during the meeting, stressing that this reflects the Arab desire to face challenges.

He pointed out that the federation will work during the next stage to support the transport sector to face the economic challenges it suffers from due to the Corona crisis and the global economic conditions, stressing the need to modernize and deal with the current digital revolution in order to provide distinguished services to Arab citizens.
