Vanguards of the Army became the 12th team that qualified for the 2022-2023 Egypt Cup final, by defeating Al Sharqia 3-0 in the round of 32.
Vanguards of the Army were preceded in the round of 16 by: Zamalek – Pharco – Ceramica – Arab Contractors – National Bank – Al-Ittihad – Al-Dakhiliya – Al-Masry – Smouha – Enppi – Future.
Thus, the fourth matches of the round of 16 were determined after each of: Zamalek against Pharco, Ceramica against the Arab Contractors, Enppi against Future, Vanguards of the Army against the National Bank.
Al-Ahly occupies the lead in the list of the most winning clubs in the Egyptian Cup, surpassing Zamalek, as the Red Genie won the championship 38 times, compared to 28 for the White Knight.
The Competitions Committee of the Football Association decided to postpone the Al-Ahly match against the Suez national team in the 32nd round of the Egypt Cup, due to Al-Ahly’s association with playing its match against Tunisian Esperance in the first leg of the semi-final round of the African Champions League.
Zamalek qualified for the round of 16 of the Egypt Cup, after defeating Proxy 3/2 in the confrontation that brought them together at Cairo Stadium, within the framework of the round of 32 matches, in a match that witnessed the resort to extra times after the end of the original time in a 2/2 draw.
