ABU DHABI, 18th May, 2018 (WAM) — Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, met today at the headquarters of the Council’s General Secretariat in Abu Dhabi, Alexander Schönfelder, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the UAE.
The meeting was attended by members of the Friendship Committee with the parliaments of European countries, Marwan Al Muhairi, Sarah Falaknaz, and Dr. Hawaa Al Dahhak Al Mansouri, members of the Federal National Council.
The meeting dealt with the distinguished parliamentary relations between the Federal National Council and the German Bundestag, and the importance of the official visit that the delegation of the Federal National Council recently paid to the Federal Republic of Germany in strengthening parliamentary relations, which will reflect positively on the relations of the two countries, in addition to the UAE hosting the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate change “COP28” and the accompanying parliamentary meeting.
The two sides stressed the importance of the existing strategic relations between the UAE and the Republic of Germany, in light of the keenness of the leaderships and governments of the two countries to advance them at all levels, and praised the results achieved in terms of mutual visits and cooperation and partnership agreements in various fields, especially economic, investment and tourism.
