Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, said that Egypt seeks to stabilize the Sudanese armistice, then shift to a cease-fire and launch a peaceful path that achieves the preservation of the Sudanese state.
In his statements to the media delegation accompanying the president’s visit in Jeddah, Fahmy added that Egypt always stresses the need to preserve the independence and entity of states, and therefore the return to stability is a very important thing, indicating that the Sudanese people are in need of development aid and job opportunities.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic indicated that the contact committee for the Sudanese crisis, which includes “Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States”, is active and will work to push the situation towards the peaceful path.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi went this morning to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the 32nd session of the Arab League Council at the summit level, which is being held in Jeddah.

The Spokesman added that the Jeddah Summit aims to enhance consultation and coordination between brotherly Arab countries regarding efforts to maintain security and stability in the region and promote Arab interests, especially in light of the successive changes and escalating crises at the international and regional levels.
