DUBAI, 18th May, 2020 (WAM) — The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has implemented a number of campaigns and various inspections through the “Rased” campaign, through which it aims to ensure that passengers comply with the regulations and laws of mass transit, whether on lines within the emirate or across cities.

The inspection campaigns targeted a number of different positions in the emirate, including Dubai American Academy, Al Khail Gate, Al Quoz, Majlis Al Gharifa, Burj Al Arab Hotel and Al Wasl Street. Without paying the specified tariff or failing to show the unified card upon request, or using the services and facilities in violation of the instructions approved by the Authority and announced by the directional signs and other established violations.

He said: “The campaigns were organized in coordination with other concerned authorities, in the Dubai Police General Command and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, with the aim of reducing the phenomenon of evasion from paying the fare by public transport bus users, and controlling the actions that are not permitted while using the buses. Violations during it, collecting data and analyzing it according to smart inspection systems and big data, and making a comparison of inspections and liberated violations and recording the positive effects and results of campaigns, inspections and oversight, and the positive role they play in reducing violations and wrong behaviors, which leads to improving the level of services provided.

He stated that the authority is keen to implement joint inspection campaigns with other concerned authorities on an ongoing basis, as well as organizing specialized awareness workshops in schools and universities in order to educate students of all age groups about the authority’s efforts in the field of monitoring public transportation, spreading the culture of using mass transportation, and ensuring adherence to laws. practice in this field.

The Director of the Control Department for Passenger Transport Activities at the Public Transport Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority appealed to the users of internal and intercity public transport buses to pay the due fare through the “Nol” card to ensure optimal use of the authority’s means of transportation, in addition to supporting the efforts made by the authority in providing services.
