DUBAI, 12th May, 2020 (WAM) — Today, at the conclusion of the third edition of the Dubai School Theater Festival, “Dubai Culture” honored the plays “The Greedy Bear” and “ADHD” as the best integrated theatrical performances.

The ceremony honoring the students was attended on the stage of the Mohammed bin Rashid Library .. Fatima Al-Jallaf, Acting Director of the Performing Arts Department in Dubai for Culture, and Muhammad Al-Habsi, Acting Director of the Literature Department in Dubai for Culture, and members of the jury, which included the artist Marai Al-Halian, the artist and director Muhammad Saeed Al-Salti, and the artist Hassan Youssef Al-Balushi, who Celebrate the creativity and qualitative ideas presented by emerging talents inspired by local heritage, customs and traditions.

The play “The Greedy Bear” by Mohammed Nour School for Basic Education for Boys topped the festival’s prizes for the second episode, after winning 5 awards, on top of which were the best integrated theatrical performance and best theatrical directing, and it went to Ahmed Bletif, and the award for best actor in a first role was awarded to the student Abdullah Ahmed Al Balushi. As well as the award for best actor in a second role went to the student Saif Walid Muhammad, and the show also won the award for best musical effects.

The play “Let’s Learn a Lesson” by Al-Lusaili Kindergarten and School was crowned with prizes for best make-up, best decoration and best composition, while the play “The Little Stone” presented by Umm Suqeim for Girls won the prizes for best costume and best lighting. Yasmine Afifi and the best actress in a second role went to the student Mona Muhammad, while the play “Teacher’s Trial” for the Millennium School for Basic Education won the Special Jury Prize.

On the other hand, the play “ADHD” of the Mohammed bin Rashid School for Secondary Education won two prizes for the best integrated theatrical performance and the best composition in the categories of the festival’s awards for the performances of the third episode, while the play “Iqraa” for the Rashid bin Saeed School won 4 awards, namely the best decoration and best actor in the first role of the student. Ayman Hassan earlier, and the best actor in a second role, it was awarded to the student Abdulaziz Muhammad Al-Muqbali, in addition to the best directing, and it went to Muhammad Bodan. The play “Ain Athbah” for Al-Raya School also won 4 awards, which are: Best Actress in a first role, and it was awarded to the student / Fatima Saeed Sultan and Best Actress in a role The second went to the student / Sarah Mohsen Al-Dhabiani, in addition to the best musical effects and best costumes. The Special Jury Prize was awarded to the show “Four Characters Looking for an Audience” for the Zayed Education Complex. The awards for best makeup and best lighting were withheld because they were not available in the shows of the third episode.

It is noteworthy that the stage of the “Dubai School Theater” had witnessed the presentation of a variety of artistic performances that varied in their visions and ideas, as the festival had opened with the performance of Al-Raya School for Secondary Education for Girls and the presentation of Al-Qayyim School – the second cycle, as well as the Umm Suqeim School for Girls, while the performances of the Millennium School for Basic Education – the episode The second and Mohamed Nour School for Basic Education for Boys – Episode Two held the conclusion of the event aimed at developing young talents and their taste and pushing them towards further developing their passion in the performing arts.
