Ambassador Ihab Nasr, Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, held a round of political consultations with the Georgian side, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Khvitsiashvili, where Ambassador Nasr praised the Egyptian-Georgian relations, and the two sides were keen to explore more possible cooperation opportunities.

For his part, the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted his country’s keenness to strengthen cooperation relations with Egypt, praising its regional role and being a major player with whom Georgia is keen to communicate constantly.
The meetings also dealt with a number of issues of common interest, ways to support cooperation and coordination between the two sides, as well as strengthening bilateral relations in various fields.
The meetings also touched on the importance of starting preparations for holding the next session of the joint committee for economic, commercial and scientific cooperation between the two countries, which is scheduled to be held in Tbilisi, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two sides at the economic and commercial level.
In a related context, they discussed proposals from the Georgian side to operate direct flights between Cairo and Tbilisi, to stimulate tourism between the two countries, in light of the large growth in the number of tourists.
