The Lebanese Forces: It became necessary for Salama to resign and to appoint a new governor for the central
The Lebanese Forces Party considered it necessary for Salama to resign and to appoint a new governor for the central government.

The media department issued the following statement:

It is no longer possible to wait for the end of the mandate of the Governor of the Banque du Liban, Riad Salameh, in order to appoint a new ruler, as after the issuance of an international memorandum against him, it became imperative for him to resign and for the government to make an immediate appointment, because following the international memorandum, international bodies will not deal with him from now on, which exacerbates the crisis. finance and leads to its complexity and development.

In parallel with the national crisis related to the absence of the state, the financial aspect of the crisis has slipped to catastrophic levels, which calls for a quick treatment of this aspect, and the role of the governor of the Central Bank is critical at this level, and after the internal and external developments that followed with Governor Salameh, it is no longer in the Lebanese and financial interest to continue it. In his position until the end of his term, it became necessary for him to resign immediately, with the aim of the governorship regaining its responsibilities and role, away from the burdens that Salama’s survival in his position had become.

We call on the government, despite being a caretaker government, to immediately resort to appointing a new ruler who will restore Lebanese and international confidence in this position. However, we warn against appointing cronies and well-known cronies, especially in a position of such sensitivity and importance and the great bet on the role of governance in light of the financial crisis afflicting the country. .
