The astronomical calculations prepared by the National Institute revealed the date of birth of the crescent of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, as the crescent of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah will be born immediately after the conjunction occurs at exactly six o’clock and 38 o’clock in the morning, local Cairo time, on Sunday, 29 Dhu al-Qi’dah 1444 AH, corresponding to 6/18/2023.
The new crescent will remain in the sky of Makkah Al-Mukarramah for a period of 29 minutes, and in Cairo for a period of 36 minutes after sunset on that day (the day of sighting), and in the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the new crescent will remain in its sky for periods ranging between (31) – 37 minutes).
As for the Arab and Islamic capitals and cities, the new crescent will remain after sunset on that day for periods ranging between (7-44 minutes), and the start of the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1444 AH will be astronomically on Monday 6/19/2023.
The Arafat vigil for the astronomical year 1444 AH will be on Tuesday 6-27-2023, and the blessed Eid al-Adha will be for the astronomical year on Wednesday 28 June 2023.
The Hijri calendar system depends on the lunar month, which is represented by the period of time that the moon takes in a complete revolution around the earth. – 9 Ramadan – 10 Shawwal – 11 Dhul Qi’dah – 12 Dhul Hijjah.
