Mohamed Gharaba, director of the Egyptian national team, revealed that the Football Association will submit an official protest to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) today, because of the date of the Pharaohs’ match with the Guinea national team.
Gharaba said, in televised statements, “We addressed CAF twice after the last March camp to find out the date and place of the Guinea match, but there was no response, and we sent a letter to the Guinea national team and we were surprised by the response yesterday that the match is on the 14th and they have a friendly match on the 17th with Brazil.”
Gharaba added, “I congratulate Al-Ahly on the victory over Al-Taraji, as it is the representative of Egypt in Africa and has all the support. The Champions League final is on June 11 or 12. Whether the final party is Wydad or Sun Downs, the players will suffer from stress due to traveling to Morocco or South Africa.”
And the Egyptian national team director added, “We have been studying the matter for a while, and we have offers for friendly matches that we have not decided on a date due to the lack of clarity in the vision about the Guinea match.”
He continued, “Today we will present an official protest to CAF over the date of the Guinea match, and within two or three days the response will arrive.”
