ABU DHABI, 13th May / WAM / Nasser Al Tamimi, Secretary General of the UAE Judo Federation and Treasurer of the International Judo Federation, confirmed Abu Dhabi’s readiness to host the annual Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Championship, which will be held in its new dress after the end of the Corona pandemic during the period from 24 to 26 October 2023, pointing out that It will be accompanied by a lot of accompanying mass sporting events.

He pointed to the great support provided by the country’s wise leadership to the youth and sports sector, which contributed to the assumption of many Emiratis to high administrative positions in various regional, continental and international organizations.

Speaking to the International Judo Federation channel and website yesterday evening, Al-Tamimi said, “Emirates Judo has contributed significantly to spreading the game at the regional and regional level, thanks to the follow-up and interest of His Excellency Mohammed bin Thaloub Al-Derei, President of the Federation, who deserved the International Judo Federation Medal and his selection as an extraordinary ambassador for friendship and peace for the International Federation.” In appreciation of the role he plays in spreading the game and the great leap it has made in the past years at the local, regional and international levels.

Nasser Al-Tamimi thanked the Hungarian President of the International Judo Federation, Marius Weizer, and all members for their continuous support to him and the professional work system in the International Federation, hoping to continue the journey with the same cooperation and spirit of the group during the new session. He also thanked the members of the European Commission and all the national sports federations that helped him in his mission.

The treasurer of the International Judo Federation praised the great organizational success achieved by the current World Championship in the sisterly State of Qatar, as a continuation of the sports successes of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in organizing and hosting various sporting events.

It is worth noting that Al-Tamimi was recently re-elected by the General Assembly as treasurer of the International Judo Federation on the sidelines of the World Championships in Doha, to maintain his position since 2007.
