Immoral relations fine in the park

The photo bearing the signature of the Montazah Gardens District Administration in Alexandria, which was hung on a palm tree, appears, noting that all gardens are monitored with cameras.

The advertisement included a warning that an “immoral relationship” would result in a fine of 500 pounds being collected from the perpetrator.

And the ad carried a reminder of the religious aspect warning against committing similar acts, as it wrote at the end of the noble verse: “And fear a day when you will be returned to God.”

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the historic Montazah Gardens Development Project in December 2022.

The president instructed the development agencies to prepare it to become the largest coastal park in the Mediterranean basin, to serve 5 million Egyptian and foreign tourists annually.

The project included the implementation of 4 artificial lakes linked by 3 waterfalls of natural stones, on an area of 31,000 square meters, which serves as a water tank to irrigate the gardens of the Montazah Palace, with a total capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day.

The project included raising and maintaining the ancient clock tower and restoring it with the same old working mechanism, with converting the “cabin” of President Mohamed Anwar Sadat into a tourist and historical shrine, and raising the efficiency of the 5-kilometer “blue walkway” corniche.

The facilities attached to the tea island have also been rehabilitated, including the tea kiosk, fish ponds and the Montazah lighthouse.
