Tonight is an opportunity to watch the Lord of the Rings and the Lord of the Rings planet Saturn in the sky of Egypt

The sky of Egypt tonight is adorned with the appearance of a distinctive astronomical phenomenon, as the moon is associated with the planet Saturn, “The Lord of the Rings and the Pearl of the Solar System.”

Dr. Ashraf Tadros, professor of astronomy at the National Institute for Astronomical Research and former head of the Department of Astronomy, said that we are witnessing a wonderful new astronomical phenomenon, as the planet Saturn, “the Lord of the Rings and the pearl of the solar system” is associated with the moon today.

Dr. Tadros explained that we see the moon in conjunction with the planet Saturn, “The Lord of the Rings”, where we see them adjacent to each other in the sky, so that the moon will be to the left of Saturn on Sunday night, May 14, and this scene can be seen with the naked eye after three in the morning, towards the east, until The scene disappears from the intensity of the morning twilight caused by the rising sun.

The astronomy professor noted that in order to be able to observe any astronomical phenomenon, such as the conjunctions of the moon with the stars and planets, or the birth of the crescents of the Arab months, the matter requires the clearness of the atmosphere and the sky being free of clouds, dust and water vapor.

He pointed out that astronomical phenomena do not have any harm to human health or daily activity on Earth.

Saturn, The Lord of the Rings, and the Pearl of the Solar System

Saturn is known as the jewel of the solar system and the Lord of the Rings and the King of the Rings because of its wonderful rings system that can be seen only through telescopes. The main ring covers almost the distance between the Earth and the Moon and is only one kilometer thick.

The reason for naming the planet Saturn by this name

The planet Saturn was named by this name, as the Arabs used to give names to the planet in relation to its distinctive characteristics, as the name Saturn is derived from the root Saturn, which means in the Arabic language slower, and the reason for this is that the planet Saturn is famous for its slow rotation and movement in the sky, as it needs what It takes about 30 years to complete a complete revolution around the sun.

It spends about two and a half years in each of the astronomical constellations, and in addition to the first meaning of the root Saturn, it also means distance, and therefore the Arabs naming Saturn by this name may be because of its distance in the sky, while the Persians call Saturn the name Kiwan.

It is worth noting that the sky of Egypt was adorned with the appearance of the second quarter moon of the month of Shawwal, and this is the last quarter of this month.

The moon reached the moment of the last quadrature yesterday, Friday, at 03:14 minutes, and it was one of the most beautiful scenes to observe it high in the sky coinciding with the beginning of sunrise, and it will remain visible in the sky until sunset in the afternoon, according to local time.

Over the next few days, the distance between the moon and the sun will shrink until the moon becomes in the crescent phase at the end of the month and is observed shortly before sunrise, in preparation for its arrival in the conjunction for the month of Dhul Qi’dah.
