Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, the university is hosting at its headquarters the activities of the Third Conference of Presidents of Arab and Russian Universities, from May 31 to June 1, and is organizing it in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Association of Arab Universities, which is based in the Jordanian capital. desk.
The convening of the conference comes as a continuation of a series of discussions and meetings that were previously held in Jordan and in Moscow, to promote the main objectives of the conference, including joint cooperation, exchange of experiences, knowledge and the latest scientific developments.
This was stated by Dr. Hamid Majul Al-Nuaimi, Rector of the University and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, adding that presidents and representatives of 50 of the best Russian universities, and heads of 150 universities belonging to 21 Arab countries, will participate in this year’s meetings. It will sign many agreements and memorandums of understanding, including student exchange, research cooperation, and others, with participation in a number of social and cultural activities and exhibitions, and tourist visits.
These meetings are attended by Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, and Dr. Victor Antonovich Sandovinci, President of Moscow State University.
Dr. Hussein Muhammad Al-Mahdi, Dean of Academic Support Services at the University of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, indicated that the first-day conference sessions will be held at the University of Sharjah, and Dr. Sultan Al-Qasimi’s house will host the activities of the second day.
The conference deals with a set of axes, including drawing up strategies for exchanging experiences and expertise and youth exchange between Arab and Russian universities in training, activities and sports programs, cooperation in the fields of joint scientific research between Russian and Arab universities, drawing prospects for scientific cooperation and joint academic programmes, academic accreditation and Arab, Russian and international academic classifications. And keeping pace with the digital transformation in higher education in light of technological developments and open applications of artificial intelligence.
