Cheng said that after the prototype submarine test is completed at the shipyard in September, the company will conduct more port and naval operations tests before handing over the submarine to the Taiwanese Navy..
And the Taiwan Central News Agency pointed out that the government has allocated a budget of 49.36 billion Taiwan dollars over a period of 7 years (from 2019 to 2025) to build the prototype of the local submarine, with a plan to launch a program to build local submarines so that the country becomes less dependent on other countries in this vital industry. In the future, it will become a major exporter of submarines in the world.
