A new push was received by former US President Donald Trump after US Special Prosecutor John Durham concluded that the FBI FBI The connections between Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia during the 2016 election should never have been fully investigated, according to a report that follows a nearly years-long investigation by a Trump administration-appointed prosecutor released Monday.

According to CNN, the Durham report, which ran to more than 300 pages, also stated that the FBI used intelligence information. )raw( It was not analyzed or confirmed to launch an investigation into Trump’s alleged Russia links, but it used a different standard in examining concerns about alleged election interference in connection with Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

The special counsel, however, has not recommended any new charges against individuals or any wholesale changes to how the FBI handles politically charged investigations, despite his strong criticism of the agency’s conduct.

Durham wrote that, based on the investigation, which he called “Hurricane Crossfire,” and associated intelligence activities, it concluded that the Department of Justice and the FBI failed to complete their important mission of fully complying with the law with respect to specific events and activities described in this report.

The report concluded that at least on the part of some of the individuals closely involved, there was a willingness to open an investigation into Trump.

CNN said Durham’s findings about the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign should not have happened, contradict the previous Justice Department inspector general’s investigation into the FBI’s Russia investigation, which identified problems in the investigation but concluded in December. 2019 indicated that there was sufficient justification to initiate an investigation.

Durham worked for decades as a prosecutor in the US Department of Justice, and had previous assignments in investigations that included the FBI’s relationship with Boston mobsters, and the CIA’s access to video recordings of his torture of terrorism suspects.

Durham was appointed in 2019 to investigate possible misconduct by US government officials as they examine the issue of Russian interference in the 2016 US election, and whether there was any illegal coordination between the Kremlin and the Trump presidential campaign.

The Associated Press said the latest report by Durham represented a long-awaited conclusion to an investigation that Trump and his allies have said will expose massive wrongdoing by US intelligence and law enforcement officials. Instead, the Durham investigation did not produce strong results with the prosecution securing a plea agreement by an unknown FBI employee, but they lost both criminal cases that went to trial.

The agency noted that the impact of the report, despite its harsh criticism of the FBI, is likely to be weakened by Durham’s record in his prosecutorial work, and by the fact that many of the episodes he cited have been studied in depth by the Inspector General of the Department of Justice.

Even so, the findings are likely to lead to more scrutiny of the FBI as Trump seeks to win the White House again, and it offers a new resource for Republicans in Congress to launch their investigation into weaponizing the FBI and the Justice Department. After the report was released, Republican House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan said he would call Durham to testify next month.

The FBI has since announced dozens of corrective actions, and the bureau outlined those changes in a letter to Durham on Monday, which included steps to ensure the accuracy of covert surveillance applications to eavesdrop on suspected terrorists and spies.

Trump, for his part, praised Durerham’s findings, writing, commenting on the report on his account on the networking network TruthSocial: After extensive research, Special Counsel John Durrham concludes that the FBI should never have launched the Trump Russia investigation. In other words, the American people have been deceived, and are being deceived now, by those who do not want to see America’s greatness.

In a subsequent interview with Fox News, Trump called the FBI investigation into him a disgrace and urged that former FBI Director James Comey and others must face consequences.

“I, and far more importantly, the American people, have been victims of this long and treacherous charade that the Democrats started, and there must be a heavy price to pay for getting our country through this,” Trump said.
