Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati revealed that the meeting he held with Prince Muhammad bin Salman in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was based on frankness, pointing out that “bin Salman expressed his support for Lebanon to get out of its crisis and support its institutions, but the condition is the implementation of the required structural reforms and the establishment of Lebanese institutions.” Its full role, especially in terms of electing a new president for Lebanon.
Mikati indicated, in an interview with Al-Riyadh newspaper, that “Bin Salman was clear in his approach, as he emphasized that the priority is for the Lebanese to carry out their duties, carry out basic reforms, and prevent any threat to the security and safety of the Kingdom.”
In this context, he explained, “The Lebanese government is taking all the required measures to prevent the recurrence of any threat to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country, and to send any prohibitions that threaten the safety of Saudi society, emanating from Lebanon.”
The caretaker prime minister also pointed out that “through communication with bin Salman, I sensed his concern for Lebanon’s security and stability and for the continuation of the humanitarian support provided by Saudi Arabia to the Lebanese people.” Arab and international forums to preserve its security, stability, safety and unity of its children.
