Al Ain, May 17 / WAM / The city of Al Ain is characterized by the extension of its green spaces and the beauty of the natural landscapes that cover it from every side and in all its regions, which made it among the most famous tourist areas in the Emirates, and one of the most beautiful cities in the country, due to the diversity of its nature between the mountains and the charming sand dunes.

The various recreational and cultural activities and events that Al Ain City abounds in throughout the year have contributed to enhancing its attractiveness, as it has become a preferred destination for visitors and tourists.

Yasser Al Neyadi, Senior Community Programs Specialist at the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, pointed out the importance of the events and activities that were held in Al Ain city, where Al Ain cultural sites were presented – Al Muwaiji Palace – Al Jahili Fort – Al Ain Palace Museum – Mohammed bin Khalifa House – Al Ain Oasis – Al Qattara Art Center Affiliated to the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi During the past months of this year, a program full of entertainment activities, inspiring cultural experiences, artistic performances and musical evenings.

He added that in Al-Jahili Castle, a series of “Ainawiya narratives” dialogue sessions were presented, and the evening was entitled “Mount Hafeet, a lofty memory”, which brought together experts, historians and members of society, during which they exchanged stories and stories about Al-Ain and its people in the near and distant past, and Saif Saeed participated in the evening. The Al Ain Palace Museum hosted “Ramadan Dialogues” sessions, which dealt with various topics on science and faith. During this year, Al Ain Oasis organized a Ramadan program in the oasis for the first time, through which it presented many activities, entertainment experiences, and programs for visitors, as it gave them the opportunity to explore the collective viewing of Ramadan programs through “Oud TV” and enjoy eating various delicious foods in a distinctive Ramadan atmosphere.

Al Neyadi pointed out that Al Qattara Art Center opened its first exhibition, “Al Qattara Murals 2023,” under the title “In the Deep Sea,” with the participation of 20 artists from the Emirates, in addition to providing various artistic workshops for adults and children throughout the year, including drawing, mosaics, pottery, and learning to play the piano and oud. Cinema lovers also had a share, as the movie The Grave Digger’s Wife, directed by Khader Aidaroos Ahmed, was screened as part of the Al Qattara Film Shows organized by the Al Qattara Arts Center. The film was attended by a large number of audiences from the Somali community and movie lovers.

Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, the Mohammed bin Khalifa House organized the “Before Suhoor” event, which presented musical performances on the tunes of the Arabic takht instruments, in cooperation with the House of Oud and the qanun player Nagham Al-Dabal, so that visitors could spend an ideal atmosphere with family and friends and enjoy various games and entertainment experiences.

Al Neyadi explained that on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Qasr Al Muwaiji organized the “Zein” event, in which community women were invited to participate in traditional Emirati dress. During the event, the attendees enjoyed live performances and heritage workshops, in addition to the “Fashion Through the Ages” exhibition, which celebrated the role of women from ancient times to the present.

Al Ain cultural sites celebrated Eid Al-Fitr by hosting many interesting events, as “Eid healers”, sweets and gifts were distributed to visitors. Al Qattara Arts Center organized the “Eid Studio” program in cooperation with Creative Space, where elegant pictures were taken of the center’s visitors, documenting the most beautiful moments with their families and friends. Qasr Al Muwaiji, Al Ain Palace Museum and Al Ain Oasis also presented Al-Ayyala and Al-Razfa performances. The Mohammed bin Khalifa House also hosted a musical “variety” concert on the second and third days of Eid Al-Fitr, with the participation of artists Mu’adh Al-Kaabi, Arwa Muhammad and Ahmed Al-Kibali. The concert included Emirati and Gulf singers from the eighties to the beginning of the 2000s.
