The members of the eight-member committee of Agudat Israel, including ministers and MPs of the faction, gathered this evening (Wednesday) at the house of the chairman, Minister of Housing Yitzhak Goldknopf, to discuss a number of issues and discrepancies that are on the agenda and have not yet been resolved. Among other things, these are gaps around the requirements of the education budget, the Jewish identity authority of the Deputy Minister of Transportation, Uri Makleb, and budget gaps in the Ministry of Jerusalem and Israel’s Tradition, which is in the hands of Minister Meir Forosh.
Bachderi Haredim has learned that Agudath Israel is expected to issue a letter in which they call on all factions of Torah Judaism “not to lend their hand to such a budget until the expected and necessary amendment of all sections”.
The spirit of the letter is that since all the essential issues have not been settled such as the conscription law, yeshiva budgets and retroactive kollelim, the mokhashar institutions, the exemption institutions and other essential issues.
Agudath Israel also clarifies that there is no mandate for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ignore this.
