President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Guido Crosetti, the Italian Minister of Defense, in the presence of Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and Major General Giuseppe Dragoni, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Italian Armed Forces, as well as Ambassador Michele Quaroni, the Italian Ambassador to Cairo. .
Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the meeting witnessed the confirmation of mutual keenness to continue strengthening the historical and close ties between the two countries, and to advance bilateral cooperation frameworks at various levels during the coming period, especially in the military and security fields, as the Italian Minister of Defense praised Egypt’s essential role in Maintaining stability in the Middle East and Mediterranean regions. The meeting also discussed the phenomenon of illegal immigration, stressing the necessity of concerted efforts to advance mechanisms to confront cross-border challenges. The Italian side appreciated the active Egyptian efforts in this regard.
