DUBAI, 22nd June/WAM/ The National Olympic Committee will organize tomorrow the Olympic Day activities, as this edition will be held under the slogan “Sports for Peace”.
The committee, in partnership with the Dubai Police General Command represented by the Dubai Police Officers Club, organizes a number of different sports activities with the aim of promoting the event and accommodating the participation of the largest possible number of segments of society.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education, First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, Head of the Executive Office and Chairman of the General Sports Authority, stressed the importance of investing sporting events in spreading the values of peace and brotherhood and strengthening bonds of affection and friendship among all members of society.
In his speech on the occasion of the Olympic Day, His Excellency indicated that the National Olympic Committee, headed by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is keen to implement the vision of the rational leadership represented in making sports a means of rapprochement between people and peoples, and instilling a spirit of cooperation in them based on the lofty Olympic principles, stressing It is necessary to allow the participation of all groups and ages in various sporting events.
His Excellency extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Dubai Police General Command for its fruitful partnership and its welcome to host the sports events for the Olympic Day at the Dubai Police Officers Club, pointing out that the success of the event will only be achieved by joint teamwork and mutual coordination with various parties to paint a bright image that the UAE presents to the world in this regard. An important day in the Olympic movement.
His Excellency called on all parties, institutions and bodies to allow their members to participate in the activities of the Olympic Day, which will witness the organization of sports and recreational activities, commensurate with all age stages, in addition to the possibility of organizing other events in various sites at the state level and documenting them with pictures and video clips on social media platforms under the hashtag Olympic Day and hashtag Sport for peace.
On the other hand, a group of divers were keen to display the Olympic Day banner and the movement’s slogan for peace at “Deep Dive Dubai”, the deepest diving basin in the world, to celebrate the Olympic Day and to promote the event and invite all segments of society to participate in it.
