After about a week of sanctions, the teachers’ union headed by Yaffa Ben-David announced a freeze on the strike.
A statement from Ben-David stated: “In light of the request of the Minister of Education, Dr. Yifat Shasha Bitton, and after a matter-of-fact meeting I held today with the Finance Commissioner, Kobi Bar-Natan, and a follow-up meeting this coming Sunday, we decided to freeze sanctions starting tomorrow, Friday. 24.6.22 The studies will take place as usual. “
Ben-David added: “I want to thank you for your support, mobilization and steadfastness, you are the spearhead of the State of Israel and I pledge to continue to work for an optimal wage agreement for all of you and for the future of the education system.”
