Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists circulated on social media a video clip of the reception ceremony of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the Turkish capital, Ankara, and what activists described as “breaking the protocol” in force by saluting the flag and members of the honor guard.
Activists compared the greetings of the Saudi Crown Prince to the guard of honor by saying “Peace be upon you” instead of “Welcome Askar” that is applicable in the protocols, citing a number of official receptions and chanting “Hello Askar” by leaders and leaders.
On his first official visit to Turkey, the Saudi crown prince arrived on Wednesday evening in Ankara, where he was received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the presidential complex.
Erdogan and Prince Mohammed bin Salman walked side by side on the red carpet and stopped to greet the presidential guard before continuing to walk until they reached the megaphone (microphone).
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Crown Prince arrived in Turkey on Wednesday as part of a tour that included Egypt and Jordan, which began on Monday and concluded with a meeting with Erdogan in Ankara.
