central – A decision was issued by the investigative judge in Beirut, Judge Charbel Abu Samra, in the case of storming the “Blom Bank” – Sodeco branch, leaving the detainees, Abdel Rahman Zakaria and Muhammad Rostom on financial bail, with a six-month travel ban, and keeping Abdel Rahman Zakaria and referring him to the military court due to the presence of arrest warrants against him previously.
At about quarter past four, the detainees were released after paying the bail.
In parallel, a number of activists, family and friends of the detainees, Muhammad Rostom and Abdel Rahman Zakaria, staged a sit-in in front of the Palace of Justice in Beirut, to demand their release.
The decision to release them, issued by the first investigative judge in Beirut, Charbel Abu Samra, in return for a financial guarantee of five million pounds for each of them, did not lead to the sit-in breaking up due to the referral of the arrested Zakaria to the military court due to the presence of an arrest warrant in absentia against him. The entrance to the Palace of Justice, but the security forces prevented them.
