The University of Sharjah signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Social Services in Sharjah, signed on behalf of the university by Dr. Eid Muhammad Kanaan, Dean of Student Affairs, and on behalf of the department, Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department, within the framework of the university’s keenness to expand its relations and joint cooperation with various institutions and local authorities in the country.

The memorandum is a continuation of the memorandum of mutual understanding signed in 2013 between the two parties, and aims to support and develop the field of volunteer work through the preparation and implementation of initiatives and joint projects to provide various volunteer opportunities for university students, activate their role in the activities of the accredited department and calculate volunteer hours through the Sharjah platform for volunteer work, what Contributes to promoting the principles of social solidarity and serving the local community.

The signing ceremony was attended by Malik Muhammad Mahdawi, Director of the Community Cooperation Office, Dr. Hisham Abdel Halim, Head of the Student Activities Management Department, and Sindia Abdel Rahman, Head of the Volunteering Department in the Social Services Department.
