Bushra Al-Shehhi, Head of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, stated that the bank works in partnership with a large number of institutions to attract and empower national cadres.
Al-Shehhi explained in an interview with Al-Khaleej that the bank has a specialized department that works to develop programs and plans that motivate and support Emirati talents looking for distinguished career paths in the banking sector.
She said, “We continue to invest in training and qualifying Emirati talents in line with the Abu Dhabi government’s strategy and the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. More than 1,000 citizens work in the ranks of the group, which constitutes approximately 46% of the total employees in the bank.”
Al-Shehhi added: “In line with the efforts of the UAE government to encourage Emiratisation efforts in the financial services sector, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank has launched a series of Emiratisation initiatives over recent years to encourage citizens to go to the financial services sector and search for the job opportunities it offers.
These initiatives specifically target the youth and those of working age, because attracting Emirati youth is a fundamental necessity for the future of the financial services sector, which looks forward to the next generation of highly skilled Emiratis who will take over the responsibility of leading this sector in the future.
Al-Shehhi stated that the bank participated in job fairs in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and received more than 1,400 job applications.
And she concluded by saying: “From the beginning of the year until today, the bank has employed about 320 Emiratis, recording one of the highest rates of Emiratisation in the UAE banking sector, which reached 46%.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank also runs a leading banking academy to provide specialized training programs for UAE nationals, through initiatives and programs, including “Leaders” and “Tamkeen”, which provide professional employees with specialized management expertise.
