The Abu Dhabi Corniche will host the “Friday” Ghantoot Sailing Race, the “third round”, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, and 50 banooshes will participate in the competition, with a total of 350 sailors racing for a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The second round of this category, the “Al-Alia Race”, was organized by the club last Friday, with a large participation of young people as well. The people of the Emirates for their authentic national heritage.
For his part, Majed Al Muhairi, Director of the Marine Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, expressed his complete confidence in the outcome of the race in a more than wonderful manner, especially after the success of the second round of this category as well, which was held last week.
He said: The turnout for participation was great, and I believe that the competition will also be exciting, stressing that the current atmosphere is beautiful, especially in light of the successes achieved by the sporting events hosted by the country during this period that coincides with the celebrations of the fifty-first National Day of the country.
He stressed that the Al Bwanish category is very important, especially as it is one of the categories that contribute to developing the sailors’ skills and teaching them the basics of marine leadership, in preparation for their presence in the large category races, such as the 43-foot and 60-foot categories.
He wished everyone success in today’s race, praising the sporting spirit that brings together the sailors in the various races organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.
