The handball team of Zamalek Club defeated its Al-Ahly counterpart, 26/25, in the final of the African Cup Winners’ Cup hosted by Al-Ahly Club at King Abdullah Al-Faisal Hall in Al-Jazira branch, to crown the title.
The first half ended with a score of 11/15 in favor of Zamalek, in a half that witnessed a remarkable superiority for the white team through each of the players, Ahmed Al-Ahmar, Hassan Kaddah and Shady Khalil, amid Al-Ahly’s attempts to reduce the goal difference.
The men’s handball team of Al-Ahly Club qualified for the final by defeating its Moroccan counterpart, Raja Agadir, 36/23 in the semi-finals, while the white team qualified by defeating Sporting, 25/24.
The handball team of Zamalek Club qualified for the semi-finals by defeating Kirkos of Ethiopia with a score of 48/23 in the quarter-finals of the tournament, while the handball team of Al-Ahly Club qualified for the semi-finals by defeating the Congolese Kinshasa Youth Club with a score of 45/23.
While the handball team of Zamalek club defeated its Moroccan counterpart, Wadad Samara, with a score of 38/17, in its fourth confrontation at the end of the first round in the African Cup Winners’ Cup, and the handball team of Zamalek club defeated the Congolese youth of Kinshasa, with a score of 51/29, in its third confrontation in the African Cup Winners’ Cup. After winning his first match in the tournament last Wednesday against Cameroonian Vans with a score of 42/20, then defeating Ivorian Red Star with a score of 42/22 in the second frame of his confrontation.
The Al-Ahly team had won the first round against Sporting 32/28, after defeating Raja Agadir of Morocco, with a score of 40/16, in the framework of the third day of the African Cup Winners’ Championship.
