Tunisian newspapers highlighted the qualification of the Al-Ahly team at the expense of the Tunisian Esperance Club, after winning (1-0) in a meeting that took place on Friday evening in the second leg of the semi-final round of the African Champions League.
And Al-Ahly renewed its victory after the first-leg result, which ended in favor of the Egyptian team with three goals without a response, to secure the red team the first card towards the final of the competition in the 2022-2023 season edition.

Al-Ahly for the final of the African Champions League
Radio “Mosaique” reported on Al-Ahly’s qualification for the CAF Champions League final, saying that the Egyptian team renewed its victory in the second leg with a goal without a response, after winning the first leg at “Hammadi Al-Aqrabi” stadium with three goals for free.
And the Tunisian radio dealt, during its talk, about an improvement that appeared in the Esperance team from the first leg, which led to the resignation of coach Nabil Maaloul from his position, so that Anis Al-Saaidi was temporarily appointed to lead the “Bab Souika” team.
“Esperance is defeated in Cairo and leaves the competition.”
Al-Shorouk newspaper said that the Esperance team bid farewell to the African Champions League competitions after losing to Al-Ahly again in Cairo, with a score (1-0), as the first leg was won by the Egyptian team, with a score (3-0).

Al-Sabah newspaper reported that Al-Ahly team became the first party to the CAF Champions League final, after the red team renewed its victory over Esperance with the goal of Hussein Al-Shahat.
The Tunisian newspaper added that despite Esperance’s loss in the first leg by three goals in “Hammadi Al-Aqrabi”, the “Bab Souika” team did not show the fighting spirit, which makes it present a great match against Al-Ahly, who managed the match well and succeeded in reaching the final for the 16th time in its history and the fourth in a row. without any hassles or losses.
The newspaper indicated that the Esperance team will face the inevitability of reviewing its accounts and reforming the team before returning to continental competitions.
Esperance’s adventure ends in Cairo
The Tunisian radio “IFM” reported that the adventure of the Esperance team in the African Champions League competition ended in Cairo, after losing to Al-Ahly.
And the Tunisian radio added, that the Esperance team was unable to remedy the defeat of the first leg by three clean, to pass its opponent to the final, after winning the second leg with an unanswered goal through Hussein Al-Shahat.
Al-Ahly defeats Esperance and reaches the Champions League final
The newspaper “FOOT 24” highlighted the news of Esperance’s loss, saying that the “Bab Souika” team had left the competitions in the semi-finals.
The Tunisian newspaper added that Ali Maaloul’s colleagues will face the winner of the match against Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, which is scheduled for this afternoon, Saturday.
