Liverpool aims to enter the summer transfer market strongly in order to rebuild the team again, especially after a disappointing domestic season with the loss of three titles and a European exit from the Champions League round of 16 at the hands of Real Madrid.
In the past few days, the Liverpool administration announced the departure of four players due to the end of their contracts after the current season, namely: James Milner – Roberto Firmino – Alex Oxlade Chamberlain – Naby Keita.
According to the American newspaper “The Athletic”, Liverpool wants to strengthen the goalkeeper position, especially after goalkeeper Kevin Kelleher asked to leave in order to have the opportunity to participate regularly.
Liverpool has set 20 million pounds to allow its Irish goalkeeper to leave, amid interest from Brentford.
And the newspaper stated that Liverpool wants to support the defensive side with a player and also with three deals in the middle of the field, namely: Alexis McAllister of Brighton, Mason Mount of Chelsea, and Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich.
Liverpool club is struggling to compete for a seat in the Champions League competition, after Manchester City and Arsenal secured the first two cards, and Newcastle approached the third card, to be the competition with fourth-placed Manchester United.
Liverpool is in fifth place in the league table with 65 points, one point behind Manchester United, but the latter has one less match against Chelsea, in addition to facing Bournemouth and Fulham.
It is scheduled to play Liverpool in the next round against Aston Villa at “Anfield” stadium, and then conclude its season by meeting Southampton in the framework of the 38th round.
