Tarek Diab, the legend of the Tunisian national team and the former Esperance Club, spoke about the great loss that the team suffered against Al-Ahly by three, in the first leg of the semi-final round of the African Champions League.
Diab said in televised statements to the “beIN Sports” channel that the loss that the Bab Souika team received against Al-Ahly is considered a “scandal”, and he requested the departure of the current club’s board of directors and Nabil Maaloul, the current coach of Esperance.
The former Esperance star added: “What happened at Stade Rades is a scandal by all standards, and this is the worst version of the team. I do not blame any player, but the current team is the weakest version of Tunisia’s Esperance in the CAF Champions League.”
And he continued: “Taraji was made by Nabil Maaloul and gave him the opportunity to shine and lead a great team in addition to the Tunisian national team after that, but this coach insulted Taraji and he must leave the club.”
He concluded: “The reputation of Esperance is at rock bottom after the defeat against Al-Ahly.”
Al-Ahly put forward in the final match of the African Champions League, after its great victory over Tunisia’s Esperance Sports Club by three clean goals, with the first leg of the semi-finals, which brought them together at the Olympic Stadium, Hammadi Al-Aqrabi, Brades.
