Manchester City has become the team with the most trophies in England since the transfer of ownership in 2008, and has succeeded in winning all the titles available locally, but it is still trying to climb to the Champions League podium.
England under control
Manchester City had two league titles in his credit, but he won 6 league titles in the last 14 years, after he began crowning in 2012 the first league championship in 44 years, the heavenly club intervened in Manchester.
Italian coach Roberto Mancini won the league in the 2011-2012 season, followed by Chilean Manuel Pellegrini to give City the 2013-2014 league title, then Pep Guardiola’s most successful era.
The veteran Spanish coach won 4 league titles during 6 seasons with Manchester City, to achieve half of the club’s history in the English Premier League.
In the 2018-2019 season, Manchester City became the first club in the history of England to achieve the historic quartet and win all the local titles in the same season, after winning the championships (the English Premier League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the Charity Shield Cup).
In light of the impressive success achieved by Manchester City in recent years, especially during the era of Catalan coach Pep Guardiola, opinions differed about the reasons for brilliance and winning titles.
Ian Cheesman, Manchester City’s media official, said in an interview with “Sky News Arabia” that the current period of success is due to the administration’s giving the opportunity to Pep Guardiola to form the team’s squad in an optimal manner.
“It’s all about Pep Guardiola’s way of creating a team with quality and skills on a relatively equal footing,” added Cheesman.
“Manchester City is a team that always plays with possession, plays fun football, threatens opponents from anywhere on the field, and that’s where their strength lies,” Ian added.
“The current Manchester City team can continue to dominate the leagues and defeat all rival clubs, except for those who have the same quality, the same management support and resources.”
The English Premier League for the 2021-2022 season is the 36th tournament in the history of Manchester City, all tournaments within England except for a single European title achieved by the Celestial Club in the 1969-1970 season in the European Cup Winners’ Cup.
Manchester City and its fans hope to embrace the Champions League title in the coming seasons, as it remains the only missing piece in the royal crown of the heavenly club that rules England, and dreams of extending his rule to all parts of Europe, and writing a new chapter of his successful story.
