Manchester United coach Eric ten Hag said that his team had received a big boost with the recovery of center back Raphael Varane from the injury that kept him out of competition, before facing Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League, but the participation of Marcus Rashford is still in doubt.
Varane missed competitions for a month after being injured in the tie with Seville in the European League, and returns to competitions at the right time as United seeks to strengthen its feet in the golden square in the league in the last four matches of the season.
But Rashford, who scored 29 goals in all competitions this season, may miss the Wolverhampton match at Old Trafford tomorrow, Saturday.
Ten Hag told reporters: “Rafa Varane is back, and Rashford’s participation is in doubt. He has a problem, a foot injury. It’s a big question mark before tomorrow’s game, but I’m happy that Rafa Varane is back.”
He added, “We have players who are capable of scoring and now have the opportunity to prove it. Varane is a veteran, he knows how to win and he will lead us to victory.”
The coach indicated that Alejandro Garnacho will be ready to face tomorrow.
United ranks fourth with 63 points from 34 games, just two points behind third-placed Newcastle United, in the framework of the raging struggle to end the season in the golden square.
