The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the dates of the African Champions League and Confederation Cup competitions for the 2022/2023 season, which kicks off the preliminary rounds for the two competitions on Friday, August 12.
The group stage of the Champions League and Confederation Cup will start on September 9-11 for the 2022 season, while the return matches will be on September 16 and 18. The second round matches will run from October 7 to 9 for the return matches on October 14 and 16.
As for the playoffs of the African Champions League and Confederation Cup, it will start in February 2023, after the end of the African Nations Cup for local players, which will be hosted by Algeria from January 8 to 31.
Wydad, the champions of the African Champions League, and Nahdet Berkane, the winner of the last edition of the Confederation Cup, will meet in the African Super Championship for the first time in history between two clubs from Morocco.
The Confederation of African Football also announced the establishment of the Super Championship between the African Champions League champions and the Confederation Cup champions between August 5-7, 2022.
