The Spanish Football League (La Liga) condemns hate speech after the racist abuse of Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior by Atletico Madrid fans.
The Spanish Football League has expressed its condemnation of hate speech after Atletico Madrid fans were filmed racistly insulting Real Madrid star, Brazilian Vinicius Junior, outside the “Metropolitano” stadium before the two teams’ match yesterday in the Spanish Football League.
Spanish media said that the fans imitated the sounds of monkeys and chants of “Die, Vinicius” throughout the match that Real Madrid won 2-1.
A League spokesperson told the BBC: “We condemn everything that happened on and off the pitch. We are working with clubs to keep football friendly and fun. Hate speech has no place in La Liga and we are working with clubs and authorities to identify any case. like that and bring them to justice.”
The two clubs did not comment on the incident.
