Sharjah 24 – Asaad Khalil:
Jose Fuentes, president of Uruguayan club Nacional, announced that Luis Suarez, the former star of Barcelona, will leave the team next November, when his contract expires.
Suarez, 35, returned to Nacional last July after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired at the end of last season.
The Uruguayan national team’s top scorer participated in ten matches with Nacional and scored four goals and three assists, but he will leave his club at the end of the current season, before the start of the World Cup in Qatar.
“The tournament is over and Luis Suarez is leaving Nacional, I will not share false expectations,” Fuentes told Puento Pinal television.
He added: “Luis Suarez did a great job for Nacional, and every time they asked me, I would say it so that it would not result in expectations for the future.”
And the Nacional president concluded his speech by saying: “He is leaving and he has said that more than once, this is how we dealt with matters.”
