The final round of the 2022/23 season kicked off today (Saturday) with the meeting between Bnei Sakhnin and Ness Ziona section in the lower playoffs. The team from the sector and the one relegated to the National League drew 1:1 at the Moshava Stadium, thus ending the bad season for both teams.
Shlomi Dora’s team started the game better, attacked aggressively and after 15 minutes, Or Roizman gave the hosts the first lead after he finished elegantly, passed the young goalkeeper Abed Yassin and easily rolled the ball into the goal. Ness Ziona’s pressure continued in the minutes after the goal and Dora’s team was close to a second goal, but contrary to the course of the game, Bnei Sakhnin striker Basil Khoury completed his third goal in four games and hit in the 38th minute into Yossi Ginzburg’s goal, who up to that point had saved three shots from entering the net.
In the second half the pace calmed down, both teams shared young players as befits a season ending game and allowed the game to continue to be equal. In the final minutes, both teams picked up a gear and tried to end the season with a victory, when in the last attack Sakhnin again reached the situation of a safe goal against Yossi Ginzburg, but the veteran Mohamed Awad missed an opportunity to seal the season with a sweet taste, and the referee Yoni Kelz, who made his debut in the Premier League, whistled for the end The game and the season of both teams.
