Mahmoud Abu Rujaila, the former star of Zamalek, spoke about the defeat of the White Knight yesterday against the Ismaili, saying, “Personally, I rejected the idea of having a foreign coach in the current period because of all the technical confusion that the team is going through.”
Abu Rujaila added, in radio statements, “I hoped that Ferrera would stay with the team until the end of the season, and if we had to leave him, then one of the club’s sons, such as Osama Nabih or Medhat Abdel Hadi, would take over the task.”
And the former Zamalek star continued, “The presence of a technical committee for the ball is very important, as they are able to lead the ball in the club well, and Osorio was excused because he took over the task at a difficult time, and it is not normal to judge him a month after he assumed responsibility.”
And he continued his statements, “Zamalek has been far from the technical level that it had in the last two seasons, and the financial crises greatly affect the team.”
Abu Rujaila continued, “At the time when we lived in the club, now if we hold a paper and a pen, you will find the few children of Zamalek who remain professionals who do not care about the club’s circumstances, and the level of the current foreigners in the team is much lower than the locals, and the team needs to build well for the coming seasons.
And he concluded his remarks: “The youth who are currently with the team are the best thing that happened from last year, and unfortunately their levels began to be affected by the club’s recent conditions.”
