Cruyff leaves Barcelona.. and this is the expected replacement for the one with distinguished achievements
Days after Matteo Alemani resigned from his position at FC Barcelona, he also joined him, as expected, the team’s sports director, Jordi Cruyff, and in turn decided to leave the Catalan team.
And Barcelona announced, through its official website, on Tuesday, that Cruyff’s contract with the team would not be renewed at its end, on June 30, due to his desire to go through a new experience in a team other than the Catalan club.
Jordi joined the team on September 1 of 2021, as during the two seasons he spent in the club, he played an important role in rebuilding the first team with many very sound decisions, and he also showed a great ability to build good relations with the club’s technical staff, especially during the manager’s term. Technician Xavi Hernandez.
Cruyff contributed to the signing of many players in free transfer deals, such as the Ivory Coast national team player Frank Kesseh and the Danish Andreas Christensen, in addition to many other players, which contributed to reducing the club’s financial expenses, and getting out of the crisis that would have led the team to the lower divisions.
The team’s sports director did not open his coffers except to contract with important players, such as the Polish Robert Lewandowski, who came from Bayern Munich, for a small amount compared to his technical value, and what he offers to the team in the current period.
Jordi Cruyff showed skill in persuading many players to reduce their wages at the club, such as what happened with Gerard Pique before his retirement, and Sergio Roberto and Jordi Alba.
After Cruyff left the team, the name of the former star of the Portuguese national team, Deco, is considered one of the most prominent names to succeed him in his position, especially since he enjoys the confidence of President Joan Laporta, who appointed him before as charged with discovering Brazilian talents for the team, a position he still occupies today. A close friend of Argentine star Lionel Messi, who Laporta wants to bring him back to the club again.
