African Development celebrates “Africa Day” during its annual meetings in Sharm El-Sheikh next week

The African Development Bank Group celebrates Africa Day under the title “Africa’s Youth: Africa’s Development Answer” during the bank’s annual meetings 2023, to be held in Egypt in Sharm El-Sheikh, in the presence of bank and Egyptian government officials, a group of African youth, and partner institutions.

The African Development Bank stated on its website that the celebration will take place next Thursday, corresponding to May 25, which is the date of the annual celebration, at the International Conference Center in Sharm El-Sheikh, and it will also be available to follow the event online through the following link: https://www.youtube. com/watch?v=YPNmf2N8Eh8

The bank pointed out that this year’s celebration is particularly important because it marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the African Union, adding that a youth dialogue will be held under the theme: “Africa’s Youth Answer, Africa’s Development Answer” to celebrate this special event.

He indicated that the dialogue will be attended by Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank Group, Monique Ntumgia, Founder of Green Girls, Cameroon, Fahad Awad, Co-Founder of YYTZ Agro-Processing, Tanzania, Younes Waziri, CEO of Ecodome Maroc Morocco, and Nydozi George Iduku, Founder and CEO of YYTZ Solaristique Nigeria Ltd, and Malado Kaba, Director of Gender, Women and Civil Society at the African Development Bank Group.

He emphasized that this event will provide a unique platform for the youth of Africa to share their views on the continent and deepen their understanding of Agenda 2063 – the Sustainable Development Goals – and the five highest priority goals of the Bank Group. This special day in Africa will showcase the rich cultural diversity of the continent through dress up and music.
