Osama Al-Masry, director of the unit responsible for following up the implementation of the initiative in Sohag, explained that the procedures that must be followed before heading to the scrapping yard are “handing over the car’s driver’s license, car number plates, and extracting Form 105 scrapping from the traffic unit,” followed by issuing a security inquiry with a copy of the national number card. From within the Investigation Unit of the Traffic Unit, or extracting a face and an analogy directed to the replacement initiative, then presenting the original national ID card of the car owner, and a copy of the old car license while heading to the scrapping yard, followed by applying to the scrapping yard; To complete the procedures for handing over the old car, and to receive the vehicle scrapping certificate.
He added that the arrival of the initiative applicants to the scrapping yard is the third step after registering via the “Go Green” website, handing over the metal plates to the city traffic department to which the car belongs, and receiving Form 105, which is obtained after paying fines or late violations on the car. He pointed out that the work in the “scraping yard” includes handing over the car papers, and examining them technically to ensure the correctness of the data, and matching the numbers of the chassis and the motor in the car’s traffic file.
The Sohag Replacement Unit appealed to the applicants of the initiative to check their mobile phones, as text messages will be sent to them, indicating the date for scrapping their cars, and to follow some procedures before heading to the scrapping yard.
