Al-Ahly coach Marcel Kohler cited more than one match that witnessed a historic rebound to assure Al-Ahly players that qualification for the CAF Champions League final is not guaranteed, after beating Esperance 3-0 in the first leg.
Kohler stressed to the Al-Ahly players that winning by three in the first leg does not mean qualification, and the team must all make an effort in tomorrow’s match against the Tunisian champion in order to qualify for the continental final, especially since Esperance will play tomorrow’s match without any pressure and has nothing to cry about.
Al-Ahly will meet at ten o’clock in the evening tomorrow, Friday, with the Tunisian Esperance in the second leg of the African Champions League semi-finals, after Al-Ahmar won the first leg 3-0, with two goals for Percy Tao and a goal for Kahraba.
Koller confirmed to Al-Ahly players more than once over the past days that the team had not decided to qualify for the African final, and that football sometimes witnesses a “remontada”, as happened from Liverpool against Barcelona when the English team rose up and won the return match at home with a clean four, after it had He lost 3-0 at Camp Nou, the stronghold of Barcelona, in the semi-finals of the European Champions League in the 2018-2019 season.
As did Barcelona, when it beat Paris Saint-Germain 6-1 at Camp Nou, after losing to the French team 4-0 in Paris in the round of 16 of the European Champions League in the 2016-2017 season.
