The US Treasury announced today, Thursday, its intention to offer a new amount of long-term bonds for subscription during the next week, with a total value of $ 120 billion.

The ministry stated that it will offer two-year bonds at a value of $42 billion, and 5-year bonds at a value of $43 billion, to conclude the offering week by selling 7-year bonds at a value of $35 billion.

The Treasury is scheduled to announce the result of subscribing to the two-year bonds next Tuesday, the five-year bonds on Wednesday, and the result of subscribing to the seven-year bonds next Thursday.

Last month, the ministry sold two-year bonds at a value of $42 billion and 5-year bonds at a value of $43 billion, and concluded the offering week by selling 7-year bonds at a value of $35 billion. Demand for 7-year bonds is below average.

Yesterday, the US Treasury Department announced the result of an auction for selling 20-year bonds at a value of $15 billion, as the subscription in this offering was below average.

The ministry stated that the return on these bonds amounted to 3.954%, with a coverage rate of 2.56 times, while the average coverage rate in the last 10 offerings of twenty-year bonds was 2.60 times.
